T-Mobile myTouch Release Date

T-Mobile’s next Android phone is official and coming soon! Although its much better designed than the first Android phone, we still had trouble finding the 3.5mm headphone jack – oh wait – that’s because the phone doesn’t ship with one!. An adapter is instead required.

I say wait for the HTC Hero which has a much better keyboard compared to the myTouch.

The myTouch is definitely functional, but we found ourselves missing the spacebar quite a lot.

The responsiveness was also about 1/3 that of HTC. The myTouch does come with a sweet case, but who really uses those enough where it is a deal breaker.

Sure it’s the only one of its kind, but it seems like it should have come out a year ago. Perhaps the best news is that T-Mobile is thinking about putting a visual voicemail app in the new app pack, though it wasn’t pre-loaded on any of the handset we checked out.

Scheduled release date: Late August.

The HTC-made Dash 3G otherwise known as the Maple, or S522, or Snap is finally now available on T-Mobile’s website.

The suggested retail is $349.99, and of course you can get it for $169.99 on a two-year contract.

The Dash 3G comes with:

Windows Mobile 6.1
Full QWERTY keyboard
Built-in WiFi
GPS
Microsoft Exchange support
2.4-inch QVGA display

BlackBerry Tour Verizon Release Date

WOW, so they finally announced it – the first official confirmation that BlackBerry Tour is headed for Verizon’s network, after all the hype and PR it only took a little over a year for this moment to come.

The self-proclaimed “America’s Best 3G Network” mobile provider has unveiled a teaser page for the smartphone.

Not much else here other than a fancy product shot and a newsletter sign up, more importantly, it looks like an official launch can’t be too far off now – Shouldn’t be more than a month, or so I’m told from an insider.

HTC Hero Release Date

For HTC and Android (Google), third time’s a charm. The HTC Hero ($TBA) is their newest handset offering and the third Android phone.

And thank God it doesn’t look like Gen 1 or Gen 2 Android phones – which were ugly as hell!

Continuing the chin motif of the company’s previous models, the Hero features:

InnoDisk’s 128 GB NanoSSD

The InnoDisk NanoSSD amazingly packs 128-gigabytes of storage into a form factor not much bigger than a matchbox. And to top it off, InnoDisk claimes the drive still reads and writes at around 150 MB/s. Wow.

As part of the testing process, InnoDisk says they test the NanoSSD by hitting it with 20 Gs of of “accelerative force” while plugged into a motherboard, and TweakTown says it’s designed to survive this. There’s been no mention of when this will be available, and I’m sure you’ll have to sell a couple of your kids into slavery to afford this thing. But it totally looks worth it. [via Technabob]

The new iPhone 3G S ($200-$300; June 19) is the latest version of Apple’s God-gadget. It will come in 16GB and 32GB capacities in the familiar black and white.

Packed with performance updates (the S stands for speed), the new iPhone is up to twice as fast as the iPhone 3G and features a 3-megapixel autofocus camera, video recording capability, longer battery life, and new hands-free voice control.
